For our 5th Wedding Anniversary we took a 6-night vacation in Las Vegas.
We stayed at Circus Circus in the North Strip. You would not believe our room number.
We got into the hotel at 11:30 p.m. (PST), so it was about 2:30 a.m. our time (EST).
We didn't do much that night, but the following day we left Circus Circus and went to the Las Vegas Hilton to see the Star Trek Experience.
It was pretty awesome.
They didn't allow photography within the ride itself, but you can take some pictures of the entrance area, which has a 30-year timeline of the Star Trek saga.
I got some pretty good pictures of the ships that they had on display:  the Enterprise, Voyager, and a Klingon Bird of Prey.
We went to the Star Trek Experience on October 4th and I just recently found out that on October 8th they had their 1 millionth customer, who got a lot of prizes.
We were just a few days away from that!!!   Timing, I guess! :-(
In back of our hotel, Circus Circus, is an amusement park under a glass dome.
Its called Adventuredome.
It has a roller coaster, a water flume ride, laser tag, a carousel, and skill games.
There were other rides in Las Vegas too.
Like the roller coaster around New York New York.
You get on the coaster inside the hotel and then it goes around the hotel.
This one went pretty fast and was better that the one at Circus Circus.
Next door, this means a 10-minute walk, to New York New York is Excalibur.
We had the lunch buffet here.
It is a really neat hotel since we like the renaissance/medieval decor.
We got a really neat picture of their sign out front.
We could have spent a full day at the forum shops at Caesar's Palace.
Basically, it is a giant mall, but the hallways are really cool.
The lighting even dims when it is getting dark outside, although there is no way to tell from the inside what time of day it is.
The marble statues are fantastic.
We must have spent a few hours in the FAO Schwarz alone.
There was a Monopoly Cafe inside where we stopped to take a rest.
Just after the escalator from the third floor there was an Egyptian themed area that had a very nice marquee.
The trojan horse at the entrance is accessible from the second floor.
Its a room unto itself.
We had to go to the Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel and Casino of course.
The shuttle over there has tiger skin covered seats and cranks out hard rock music so loud that you can't even talk to each other.
The driver, Sam, drove like a maniac.
It was a better ride than either of the two coasters that we had been on.
The casino was okay, but the door handles on the doors were way cool.
The big show that we went to was Mystere by Cirque du Soleil at the Treasure Island hotel.
It was breathtaking!
A must see!
After the show, we went outside to the Mirage to see the volcano erupt.
We got a pretty good picture of the volcano.
We also saw Jeff Dunham at the Sahara Hotel.
He is a comedian/ventriloquist with a purple sidekick named Peanut.
It was really funny.
We couldn't stop laughing.
We did go to see a topless show at the Flamingo Hotel.
It was by a troop called Crazy Girls.
We must have walked 5 miles each day, except for the first day, which was more like 15 miles.
All in all it was a great vacation.
We would recommend it to anyone.
